Marloes and her experience with the O4 Flow Active wheelchair
This month, we asked Marloes a few questions about her experiences with the adjustable Flow Active wheelchair. She considers this O4 wheelchair to be a very good investment, both economically and in terms of health. Marloes lives with her husband and daughter, and works with TNO.
What was your first impression of your 04 Wheelchair?
Wow!
How has this wheelchair changed your daily life?
I experience less pain in my back and therefore have more energy.
Seat and backrest are adjustable
How does this wheelchair compare to others you have had before?
Because I can adjust the seat and backrest, I can easily sit in a less static position and change my posture. This allows me to change the pressure on my back or pelvis. As a result, I am less tired from pain.
What do you think of the design or appearance of your wheelchair?
The wheelchair looks streamlined.
Which features or components do you use most often? And why?
Adjusting the seat and backrest to adapt my position to the activity or situation I am in.
In which situations does your wheelchair perform best?
Inside, I can easily reach my kitchen cabinets. But it’s also very handy for my work.
What is the nicest compliment you have received about your wheelchair?
Elegant
What would you say to someone who is hesitant to invest in a comfortable, attractive wheelchair?
It may cost more than a regular wheelchair initially, but in the long term it is a very good investment in terms of both economic and (mental and physical) health: pain symptoms are reduced, so less medication is needed, as well as fewer visits to the physical therapist.
What do you like most about this wheelchair?
I can adjust my sitting position and posture to suit any situation or activity, and that’s freedom!
In a word: how does it feel to sit in this wheelchair?
Amazing!
Finally, what does mobility or freedom mean to you personally?
Being able to be a complete person and live life to the fullest. And when the weather is nice, I love to go out on my hand bike.
